Why test a vial you already own

Research peptides are not regulated the way medicines are. Nobody checks the vial against its label before it ships, and a certificate supplied by the seller is a document the seller controls.

Three things go wrong often enough to be worth checking: the compound is not what the label says, the purity is well below the number advertised, or the vial contains less peptide than the dose printed on it. An independent test answers all three at once, and the answer belongs to you rather than to the vendor.

What the lab measures

Every sample runs through the same two-instrument process we use for the vendor catalog, so a result you order is directly comparable to every score on this site.

  • HPLC purity analysis. High-performance liquid chromatography separates the main compound from everything else in the vial and reports purity as a percentage.
  • Mass spectrometry. Confirms the compound is the peptide on the label, at the molecular weight it should be.
  • Quantity check. Measures how much peptide is actually in the vial against what the label claims.

What you get back

A certificate of analysis naming the peptide, the vendor, the lot, the purity percentage, the measured quantity and the date of the run. It is yours to keep. If the vial came from a vendor we track, the result is also published on that vendor's page and folded into their purity score, alongside the blind samples we buy ourselves.

Results that fail are published the same way as results that pass. A vendor cannot pay to have a test removed, and we do not run tests vendors are allowed to preview first.
